2017 Executive Command

William Ruff, Emminent Commander & Recorder: Will is a Columbia College junior from Chapel Hill, North Carolina. He attended Durham Academy, and took a gap year to travel around New Zealand and Asia before coming to Columbia. He is studying Economics with a concentration in psychology. Will loves Duke Basketball and enjoys making hoop-mixtapes in the gym. He is on the Parliamentary Debate team at Columbia, and is a licensed mixologist for the Bartending Association.

Coby Zucker, Sentinel: Coby is a Financial Economics major in CC class of 2019. He is originally from Potomac, Maryland where he attended Walter Johnson High School. Coby is a member of Columbia's Men's Varsity Swim Team, and competes in the Breaststroke and IM events. Along with Sigma Nu, he is the VP of Programming for the Interfraternity Council, and an RC@C “Alice” Health Initiative facilitator. In his free time, he loves hanging around the hau5 and watching rom-coms with his brothers.

Chris Gaw, Chaplain: Chris is junior in SEAS majoring in Mechanical Engineering. From Santa Clarita, Chris loves playing tennis and learning about sports through playing video games. Personally, he does not enjoy writing, and leaves that task up to his friends.

Evan Lander, Marshall: A sophomore in SEAS, Evan attended high school in Long Island, New York. He is studying Computer Science with a minor in Operations Research. On campus, Evan is a Coordinator for Columbia’s One-to-One Tutoring program and is a Resident Advisor.  Outside of the classroom, Evan is an avid tennis fan and has enjoyed the recent reemergence of his favorite tennis player Roger Federer. Evan is also a professional thumb war player.

He loves playing sports and is an avid fan of the Super Bowl Champion New England Patriots. At Columbia he intends to pursue his true passion of studying Xenobiology.

Fernando Garcia, Alumni Chairman:  Fernando is a senior majoring in Economics-Mathematics. He hails from Recife, Brazil and currently serves as the Alumni Chair for Sigma Nu’s Delta Gamma chapter. While not busy with the extremely demanding task of bringing alumni back to the house, he’s usually watching sports, pulling an all-nighter at the library, or feigning interest in pretentious works of art to impress girls. After graduation, Fernando plans to sell out by working in the private sector until he feels guilty enough to pursue his dream of helping poor countries develop

Michael Riera, Philanthropy Chairman: Michael is a junior in Columbia College who attended The Lawrenceville School, where he starred as a captain of the soccer and starting point guard for the basketball team. From Newark, New Jersey, Mike loves giving back to those in need, and is a board member of Camp Kesem and Columbia.

Brandon Chin, Risk Reduction Chairman: Brandon is a senior in CC from Boston, MA. Before coming to Columbia he attended Choate Rosemary Hall in Wallingford, CT. He plans to major in Biology and Human Rights and hopes to work for the UN some day. On campus he is involved with the Asian American Alliance and Columbia’s food magazine, The Culinarian.

Outside of the classroom, Zach is an avid runner, a casual basketball fan (allegiance: Boston Celtics), and a staunch supporter of Tom Brady and the New England Patriots.
